Ingrid Vassallo graduated as a social worker from the University of Malta and has worked for a number of years at Agenzija Appogg. She further pursued her studies in Gestalt psychotherapy and is now a practising psychotherapist. She has a dedication and passion for both professions and feels that one complements the other.
As a social worker, she mainly works with children whose parents are going through marital separation. As a psychotherapist, many times she meets adult persons who are dealing with childhood traumas and thus she can see more clearly how relevant her work with young children is.
Ingrid is in process of obtaining a specialization in Child Psychotherapy.
She feels lucky that she loves her work. She says; “Being a psychotherapist is about decreasing suffering and improving quality of life. I celebrate those moments where I see hope in the eyes of a client, or recognition of own strength. It is about walking through the journey with clients as they reunite with a Self that has been long waiting to emerge.”
Her interests and experiences are widespread ranging from addictions, depression, bereavement and loss, trauma and marital and relationship problems.
She works privately in a clinic meeting individuals and couples, who are either going through some difficulty or who are interested in acquiring more insight about themselves.
