The NGOs Celebrities for Kids (CfK) and YMCA Homeless are organising a National Conference on “The Disadvantaged Child – Problems and Solutions”.

Despite the best efforts of governmental, church and non-governmental agencies the reality of today in Malta and Gozo is that a significant number of children and young people are still suffering a troubled and difficult childhood. Youngsters who have had to endure physical or sexual abuse; abandoned children; children in institutional care; children suffering from neglect and emotional trauma. Much has been said and written about these problems. Solutions and concrete measures however have been less forthcoming.

The National Conference “The Disadvantaged Child- Problems and Solutions” will discuss these and other related issues.
